Carnival Cruise Line Info

  • If you’re young and like to party then Carnival is for you. Carnival is known as the “fun ship” or, more to the point, party ship (i.e. lots of drinking and late nights.) But my middle-aged aunt and uncle like Carnival — go figure. Carnival is more of a party ship…there is a lot more drinking and people drunk, and even overboard…this cruise line has the most people overboard over any other cruise line…the food is just average, the entertainment ok, and the ports of call not the best that I have ever seen…it is much more packed than other cruiseline….it holds the same amount as others, but isn’t as much to do onbaord…it is good for singles, but not really with kids because there are areas that should be for adults only, such as the nude areas, but kids can just walk right in…not such a great thing in my opinion…now price wise it is a bit overpriced for service that isn’t so great…meaning you pay for things you don’t get.
    • Carnival is a ‘fun’ ship with lots of younger crowds and the alcohol flowing everywhere. The 7-days are the best, but be sure you pace yourself. There’s tons to do, but don’t wear yourself out. Remember to relax by the pool or on the beach. Carnival is an good cruise line for an economical-minded person. You get the most for your money. You won’t get as much service as on Royal Caribbean, Princess, or Norwegian, but it’s a lot cheaper and unless you’re used to being pampered the service aboard Carnival will astound you. Carnival is the most fun, and the best for younger people I think. Princess is more expensive, more extravagant, but more for older, calmer people. I’ve partied till like 5 A.M. on Carnival cruises, at 3 A.M. on a Princess cruise it was me and the crew up. Royal Caribbean is like the happy medium of the two. They are a little more than Carnival but have some really cool ships. I would get brochures, make sure you get a nice big ship with all the stuff you want. Big pools, a slide, a basketball court, a climbing wall, big shopping area. Good luck and enjoy. Oh, and you won’t get raped but you’ll probably get hit on by all of the male crew and maybe some female. I think they’ve all been at sea too long and foreigners think Americans are easy. A lot of them probably meet people too seeing how people are always looking for a vacation fling. I’m sure they have a no-fraternizing rule but it doesn’t work.
    • Carnival is more geared to being young and fun, lots of games and parties, but I would consider Royal Caribbean overall more romantic. Also keep in mind the size of ships - they are huge! No matter what ship you take you wil be able to find some quiet, romantic locations. If you are looking to avoid children and your cruise ship has different dinner seatings, pick one as late as possible, by then most of the kiddies will be in bed and you can enjoy a quiet romantic dinner.
    • I would suggest the Carnival Cruise lines. I just got back from a cruise on Royal Caribbean and although there were minimal children, the crowd was older (55+). In comparing the two I felt that Carnival was more exciting. The personality of the staff on the Carnival was also better. I don’t know your personality but that is just some of the differences I noticed. RC = Older crowd, higher class, less energy. Carnival = “the fun ship” some kids, upbeat people, 30 somethings.
